Etf Preview: Etfs, Stocks Higher On M&a News, Mixed Economic Data - Nasdaq.com

U.S. stock futures were firmer ahead of Thursday's open, lifted by M&A news, particularly Pfizer's (PFE) $17 billion deal to buy Hospira (HSP). In economic data, weekly jobless claims rose by 11,000 to 278,000 - beating the expectations for an increase of 290,000.
